Although she was born and raised in Vancouver, Ariana has visited many culturally diverse countries throughout her life with her family. “My parents are as passionate about art as I am,” she revealed. Ever since she was young, she was influenced by her parents’ passion about design and painting. Her dad is an architect, while her mom’s greatest hobby is painting, so Ariana has been constantly exposed to visual art techniques and graphic designs. Furthermore, the artistic atmosphere in her family has truly inspired Ariana to pursue digital art not only for enjoyment, but also as a career.
Ariana mentioned that her interest in graphic and digital art began at Collingwood in Mr. Francis’ photography class when she was in grades eleven and twelve. During these two years, she learned how to use Photoshop and Illustrator, which she can also incorporate into her job in advertising and marketing when she graduates from university. She explained, “I love using my computer as a medium to create art because the options are endless and you can be as creative as you want.”

With the goal of working in the advertising and marketing field, Ariana has been spending a great amount of her time creating brochures and magazine spreads based on the theme of Vancouver Fashion Week. Her strong sense of colour and composition has allowed her to design fantastic pieces, such as Fashion Fades.
Apart from being such an amazing graphic designer, Ariana also engages in Hip Hop. During her time at Collingwood, she was the captain of the Hip Hop Crew, but unfortunately she did not continue dancing at university. Dance will continue to be Ariana’s hobby, but she wishes to focus on graphic designs now, and we would love to witness her works being published in magazines!
