Collingwood’s annual dance show was a few weeks early this year, but was no less polished and no less magical. This years theme was Four Se4sons, being represented in dances and music epitomizing fall, winter, spring and summer. In a way, especially for to the seniors leaving this year, this theme held a distinct significance, of the cycle of a year ending; each phrase equally as beautiful and a valuable experience with its own unique and transforming characteristics.
As one who personally experienced and participated in the dance show, my last time dancing on this particular stage, the show marked a poignant and memorable process. Every part was the same, waiting back stage, flourishing under stage lights, expressing all the emotions of gratitude, love, and enthusiasm through movement, yet it was also different, as if each step and each person there with me has grown to be close and vital to a certain aspect of my experience of life.

Ms. Cara Tench once again created an amazing show, unifying people through dance and the stories it tells, and allowing creativity and individuality to shine through. A special example of this is the first dance Seasons of Love, illustrating all the principles of what dance is and how it brings people together to enjoy and treasure. The dance show also had very notable guests this year, including Mr. Wright performing the very suitable role of headmaster in School Spirit, and Molly Wright as Santa Claus in Battle of the Elves. Additionally many of the seniors had solos, with Alina, Rhys and Christine all exemplifying the magnitude and importance dance has in their lives.
The whole experience, including the students, teachers and alumni’s coming to help make the performance so spectacular was incredibly inclusive. The show generated a sense of accord, harmony, and affinity amongst all grades, ages, and individuals. Each dance, with its special elements and differences, were tied together within the theme as the evolution of a wonderful journey.
