The Coffee House is a new addition to Collingwood’s roster of student activities. Its inception is accredited to the efforts of Lucas Phillip of Grade 12, who worked tirelessly alongside the Ad Verum (School Newspaper) team to take it ‘from vision to reality’. The Grade 12 House Captains, along with The Ad Verum, hosts this engaging student initiative every other Friday morning at 7:45am. The Coffee House welcomes musicians, comedians, poets and actors from our school community to showcase their splendid talents in the Common area. The launch of the Coffee House has provided students and faculty members with a refreshing way to start their Friday mornings, allowing them to indulge in light-hearted performances and presentations, while enjoying a delicious cup of hot chocolate or coffee. Many agree that the Coffee House grants members of the cavalier community a valuable opportunity to share and become inspired by their peers. Over the last two gatherings, students from a variety of grades, including Emily Kelsall, Verankia Krauchanka, Lucas Philipp and Hannah Palacios brought forth intriguing performances, which have hopefully encouraged more students to come out and participate in the upcoming Coffee House gatherings. Be it playing the guitar, sharing a witty joke, or even just supporting your peers, the Coffee house will be sure to add something special to your Friday Mornings!
