I think so fondly of childhood memories for the hunt for chocolate eggs, the thrill of discovery, the solemnness of the occasion and all cloaked with wonderful family and friends.
Here is our first ever virtual Collingwood choir ‘release’ for you to enjoy! Recorded in three different studios (homes, showers bedrooms) around Vancouver.
This recording is the collaboration between three Collingwood music teachers, representing both Wentworth & Morven! Erin Deighton, Kimberly Taylor and David Buchan are happy to present:
Earth Song by Frank Ticheli! This is a 7 part piece with lyrics we thought appropriate for our moment in time.
Please enjoy, take in the words and enjoy a preview of what the Music depts are working on as we wind our way through ‘virtual teaching’ and the new technologies that this presents…
Our wish for you is to be well rested after this weekend for the final bit of the school year!
Enjoy,
David Buchan, Erin Deighton and Kimberly Taylor
LYRICS
Earth Song, Frank Ticheli
Sing, Be, Live, See.
This dark stormy hour,
The wind, it stirs.
The scorched earth
Cries out in vain:
O war and power,
You blind and blur,
The torn heart
Cries out in pain.
But music and singing
Have been my refuge,
And music and singing
Shall be my light.
A lightof song
Shining Strong: Allelulia!
Through darkness, pain, and strife, I'll
Sing, Be, Live, See...
Peace.
