Ellie Anderson is a motivated student who has a strong passion for singing and acting in the Arts strand. She has been singing since she was very young and it has always been a part of her life. During grade 6, she started to pave another path towards acting when Collingwood offered it as an arts course.
Ellie would describe the arts in general with three powerful words: creative, expressive and joyful.
Like multiple heroes in the arts section, Ellie has gone through numerous different obstacles. She got into singing right away because of how young she was when she started, but her acting career has not been an easy road. She auditioned for the recent Collingwood production of The Laramie Project and was not accepted, so she now knows that she has to work harder next time.
On the bright side, she auditioned for two musicals and got the part of the main character in both, which shows that she puts a lot of effort into her preparation.
Ellie has one hero throughout all of this: her mother. Her mother has been singing all her life and she has never given up, which is a personality trait that Ellie is very fond of.
Ellie’s one message to anybody who has a love for singing and/or acting is: “Don’t be scared to start singing and acting. Just try it. It doesn’t matter if you’re good or if you’re bad, it only matters how hard you try to be the best you can be.”
