A grade ten student, Sian Shin, commented, “It was amazing having the chance to meet and have a real conversation with an artist. Not only did Lokua answer our questions, he also tried his best to make a connection with each of us--- something I found particularly admirable.”
Another grade ten student, Joy Hou praised, “Having the opportunity to meet and talk to Lokua over Skype was absolutely amazing. He is unbelievably talented and also very friendly. This is definitely an experience I will remember forever.”
When I asked a grade eleven student in the class, Pirooz Malektojar immediately began praising Lokua Kanza. He explained that, “I'd say that it was very culturally rewarding to speak with him. I have a great admiration for his work and many unseen abilities, such as his multilingualism.”
No matter whom you come across in the class, you would not stop hearing how much they learned and how fun it was to talk to the brilliant artist. The Collingwood Grade 11 French Enriched class strongly appreciated Lokua Kanza for sparing time from his busy schedule to interact with every student. After interviewing him, many students were able to learn about the enriching francophone culture from an artist’s perspective.
