Charlotte Anderson is a passionate grade 9 singer. As a little girl, she loved to show off and perform. Through this, she discovered that singing was an amazing way to do so. As she got older, singing became greatly integrated into her life and it is now a huge part of who she is. Thankfully, Collingwood has many resources for singers. In the Wentworth production of Annie, she was the lead role, Annie. She also sang with advanced string groups and did a duet with Rheanna Philipp in the Kiwanis festival, Whistler, where they won first place. For the majority of Charlotte’s life, she has been singing in choirs, but she really started to take it seriously when she started taking voice lessons at the age of 12. Her biggest obstacle is the mixture of emotions. She shares that she tends to be anxious often and finds it really hard to perform in front of a large audience. However, as she has gotten older, she has been able to manage her anxiety better and is very eager to have more opportunities to perform. Charlotte is very happy with her choice to sing. If she could change one thing, it would be to have taken her voice lessons earlier. She says, “Your voice is an instrument and every chance you get to learn is really important.”
