There is an artistic bunch in the Collingwood Community; this was very well proven throughout Arts Week.
But what is art? What makes one artistic?
Well, art isn’t defined or restricted to only one specific form. It can branch out into many different genres: creative writing, poetry, calligraphy, drawing, painting, collage, photography, film, sculpture, tapestry, performing arts, music. But it doesn’t end at that! Anything that comes from the heart is art -- feelings portrayed in the form of art, emotions drawn out from the depths of one’s soul.
Now, one who has the ability to accept and interpret the deep messages from the profundity of their mind is artistic.
That’s why no one is bad at art. Art is just who you are. It is you who chooses how to portray it; you just have to find the right form and medium to be able to convey your essence to the world.
Just remember to be creative with it!

Bloom, now that was an art show presenting the paintings of Collingwood students who had successfully allowed their feelings to “bloom” in painting, drawing, collage and many other different forms of art. It was also accompanied with music played by our expert jazz band.
Art was fresh in the air throughout the whole week. Though the head start of it all was the Arts Week Assembly, it was the encouragement all students needed to feel art flow in their blood; it is important to know that EVERYONE is an artist, one just has to allow art to lead the way; that makes them artistic.
The choir had multiple performances throughout the assembly, each one better than the other. However, the one shown below was unforgettable - it was incredibly different; you MUST watch it.

The newly added group of musicians to our collection of artists also had a commendable performance which can be seen below.
There were multiple dance shows which were strongly performed by both the middle school and senior school Collingwood dancers. Parts of these performances can be viewed below.

Also, throughout the assembly, an artistic few from each house were chosen to draw the portraits of their head of house for house points, the results of which were incredible!

The thrilling bang which ended the assembly was a show including almost all forms of art practiced at Collingwood. This part was another dance show by the senior dancers accompanied by the choir, the band, and our skillful drummers. The dancers, singers, and musicians, all joined one another to fabricate a performance that gave all the audience goosebumps due to the pure beauty of their art.
We are all looking forward to the next Art Week. Salute artists!
