Statement from the Art Teachers:
“Please join us in celebrating our visual artists from Grade 8-12 at Pandemonium, an online student art show. Despite being guided and supported by their art teachers, the students are at the center of this exhibit in every way. Part of being an artist is considering what you exhibit and how you present the work. Students had to make some tough decisions on what they wanted to share with the greater community. Some chose work from earlier in the year and many chose more recent works to share. Students were given access to their class gallery via Padlet and from there made all decisions on what was shown, how it was photographed and cropped to look its best, how it was presented, what was written about the work as well as sharing any documentation of their process. There is a mix of media that has been explored and an equally impressive range of subject matter.
Please keep in mind, the final 10 weeks of these artists’ journey involved finding new ways of making the work and salvaging what they could for art supplies and surfaces to create their works upon. We hope you agree that our students were successful in doing what many artists do best: finding creative solutions in challenging situations. We encourage you all to take a close look at the work you see here. Read their stories, see the process they went through to find a result. Please feel free to leave some positive comments or questions for the artists as it is always rewarding for artists to hear from the viewers.
Enjoy the Show!”
