Fraser Williams has been gifted lavishly with the aptitude for performing arts. Currently attending grade five at Collingwood, this young budding artist has already displayed a strong penchant for acting, such as being selected to play Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Bard On the Beach, a professional Shakespearean festival.
Being born in London, a city celebrated for its diversity of art, Fraser was accustomed to watching theatric performances in open air, such as the Shakespearean plays in the “amazing Globe Theatre”, as he recalled. Being raised in a family that cherishes art allowed Fraser to be constantly immersed in an artistic atmosphere -- from watching the renowned Broadway show Hamilton, to paying a visit to the Broad Museum in LA.

Notably, Fraser’s team was awarded first place in Vancouver in (DI) Destination Imagination, a competition involving arts and science. With the team’s ingenious design, dexterously crafted stage supplies, and Fraser’s vivid portrayal of Christopher Columbus, it wasn’t a surprise that they stood out among all the teams in Vancouver. Taking into account the late-night rehearsals and moments of improvisation, Fraser describes DI as a “truly rounded experience” to accomplish a seemingly insurmountable task “from scratch”.
Fraser has recently auditioned for his very first school play, Shrek. He expressed his earnest enthusiasm to be part of the play, “as long as I don’t make people long for earplugs! ” he humorously remarked.
When inquired about the future, Fraser does not hesitate to convey his aspirations: “I would love to be in plays and concerts at school as I get older and hopefully even direct some plays. Maybe one day I can even be Steven Spielberg!”
