Savin Narwal, a Collingwood lifer, avid reader and field hockey player, is also one of Collingwood’s most innovative artists. Ever since she was young, Savin has always enjoyed working with colouring books. However, it wasn’t until her teenage years that she really took a serious interest in art. This interest has fostered into true talent as her work is often featured hanging on the walls of various art displays around the school.
Savin experiments with a full range of styles from gouache paintings to cartoon designs. When asked what her favourite medium is to use, she expresses that she enjoys creating acrylic paintings due to the medium’s ability to easily block bold colours. She also enjoys sketching fashion designs, all of which are sophisticated and fashion-forwards.
To Savin, art is simply an outlet for her to relax and enjoy herself in various projects. Ideas and creativity are most important to her as an artist, and she clearly has demonstrated her great strength in this aspect. Currently, Savin is working on an abstract landscape made from her favourite medium, acrylic. We look forward to seeing this completed work as well as future projects from this talented artist!
