Inclusion
By: Tom Walsh, Andrea Bosa, Lucia Diao & Avani Arora (Grade 9)
This piece of art is a symbol of inclusion. We began this project individually by listening to music and doing a blind contour drawing of what we felt. We then later connected all of our drawings together, to create one big piece and added color. These colors made us feel alive, and brought out different senses of energy and inclusiveness. In each of our pieces, we had a main color and then connected each of them to one in the center of the piece, representing the sense of inclusion and belonging to each of the pieces.
The message behind the art piece Lucia, Avani, Tom, and Andrea created was the sense of inclusion. Each individual piece contained 1 solid color that would blend together in the middle. The charcoal heart with pink highlights, it elicits the emotion of love. The yellow piece is a symbol of joy. Blue stands for melancholy, and green represents serenity. In each of our pieces, we had a main color and then connected each of them to one color in the center of the piece, representing the sense of inclusion and belonging to each of the pieces because we are all equal, and the same.
